Meet Sylvie Brachmanski, Deco-expert.

Sylvie has always been passionate about the festive spirit of Christmas. With a healthy dose of entrepreneurship, Lilosquare was born in 2017, with the mission of reinventing the joy and magic of Christmas through authentic decoration.

If there's one thing to remember, it's the uniqueness of each of the pieces created: it's a whole range of hand-blown and hand-painted glass Christmas baubles that are imagined by this young woman.

Sylvie shares her 5 secrets for successfully decorating your Christmas tree

Secret 1: Take your time.

There's no need to rush, says Sylvie straight away.  Decorating a tree is not something to be taken lightly. As soon as the bare tree is placed in the room, you need to straighten and orientate certain branches to harmonise the whole. It's an important moment, because it's often an intergenerational sharing experience that immerses us in the world of Christmas.

Secret 2: Choose a theme and a maximum of 3 colours to achieve harmony.
The first question to ask yourself is the choice of colours. Do you use or re-use the same decorations? Or are you tempted to follow a particular decorating trend? Whatever you choose, you'll need to ensure that the colours are dominant, both on the tree and in the overall decor. Whatever the three colours you choose, Sylvie recommends that you keep a common thread running through your decor, and don't forget to mix shiny and matt baubles.

Secret 3: And there was light.

To create the tree of your dreams, start by putting up your garlands of lights, before decorating the tree with your most beautiful baubles. Don't be in a hurry to hang up your baubles first, because putting up the garlands afterwards will make the operation more complicated and risk the baubles falling off and breaking. Whether you choose a natural or artificial tree, it's important to give it plenty of light. Sylvie points out that some artificial trees already come with built-in lighting.

Secret 4: The baubles and accessories should be arranged in a certain order.

There are a few practical tips to help you make the most of the king of the forest. In the same way as for the garland of lights, the non-luminous items should be placed second. Everyone can add their own personal touch, but make sure there's a balance between the different levels of the tree. Once this stage is complete, it's time to hang the baubles. Once again, be sure to place baubles on both the inside and outside of the tree, to add depth to the garlands of light, especially if the tree is in a corner. At the end, a few figurines, angel hair or synthetic snow will enhance the overall effect.

Secret 5: Don't take the foot of the tree lightly!

Once the baubles and other accessories (garlands and lights) have enhanced your beautiful tree, we'll look at the other details of symmetry and balance of these different elements, to achieve perfect harmony. Once the tree is decorated, we'll finish off by trimming its base. There are several ways of covering it. Linen, jute or white plaid will do the trick. Once the base is covered, a few decorative elements can be added to the floor: a cot, a few figurines, and of course, the presents that you will open surrounded by your loved ones.
